Srinivasa Ramanujan (1887–1920) was a self-taught Indian genius who made exceptional contributions to mathematics. Born in Erode, India, he showed awe-inspiring talent as a child prodigy. He mastered advanced trigonometry by the age of 12. In 1914, Ramanujan moved to England to work with G.H. Hardy and was subsequently elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1918. Due to poor health, he returned to India and passed away in April 1920 at the age of 32.
