Synopsis

Suffering Unjustly is Dr. John M. Cobin's firsthand account of imprisonment, wrecked family life, and the loss of property and wealth endured by a Christian family navigating a modern democratic legal system that failed to deliver justice. After relocating to Chile in pursuit of a freer, more principled life, Cobin found himself entangled in a legal ordeal that tested his faith, his marriage, and his resolve. Written as a companion volume to the Bearing the Cross series and Behind the Walls, this book examines how courts, prosecutors, and bureaucracies can turn against an innocent man and his family - and how sustained faith and perseverance carried them through. Drawing on his training as an economist and his lived experience, Cobin exposes the mechanisms of injustice inside institutions presumed to be fair, offering both a personal testimony and a broader warning to Christians and liberty-minded readers everywhere about the fragility of due process. A sobering, faith-centered memoir of suffering, endurance, and hope.
