Synopsis

Discover the stories of West Tennessee history in Harbert Alexander's books. Listen for echoes of long ago. Look for footprints of those who walked before us.

In Old Trails and Tales of Tennessee, you'll discover Thomas Alva Edison once lived in West Tennessee. Come ride with David Crockett as he leaves Gibson County bound for Texas and the Alamo. Or go with Richard Halliburton as he travels the ends of the world. You'll read about the tragic sinking of the Sultana in the Mississippi River. More people lost their lives than those on the Titanic.

Sketches from acclaimed illustrator Richard Brown accompany each chapter and provide portraits of characters and landmarks.

Author and historian Harbert Alexander often said: "It's our history, and it's all around us if you only look!"
