A proud Valley native, she is widely recognized for documenting the region's rich, multicultural past-bringing to light stories long overlooked in traditional narratives of Los Angeles history.As the founder and president of the Pacoima Historical Society, Jackson has become a leading force in preserving the cultural and historical legacy of the Northeast San Fernando Valley. Her work has earned national recognition, including honors from the United States Congress and numerous civic awards, for her commitment to community-based history and public scholarship. Her landmark book, The Entrance: Pacoima's Story, is a sweeping 600-page chronicle spanning over 1,500 years, positioning Pacoima as a vital center of cultural diversity and social influence within the broader American story.Expanding beyond Pacoima, Jackson's body of work explores the interconnected histories of the San Fernando Valley as a whole. Her publications include "Not Colored," a historical novel based on the life of the first woman in the LAPD detective unit, and the internationally recognized "The Marilyn Monroe Connection," which uncovers the story of a San Fernando Valley figure linked to Monroe's death.
