What do you do after finding fifty-nine children living inside an old, abandoned warehouse that's crumbling apart? It was January, 2001, and a deadly earthquake had just struck off the coast of El Salvador. In its aftermath, several friends faced this very question.
Gary Powell began to dream about how they might help the children. He was inspired by the life of a man in the 1800's, who built an orphanage that cared for more than one-thousand children, yet never asked anyone for money - he solely prayed to God to meet the children's needs. Would God allow Gary to witness something like that?
With limited resources and no plan, Gary, his wife, Sharon, and their friends agreed they had to do something. So they took a step of faith, where there was no turning back...and trusted God with the outcome.
