Synopsis

Estranged from Ted, her unreconstructed Confederate father, a man desperate to discover who in his mind has dishonored his daughter thereby indelibly staining the venerable Sander's name, Stevie endeavors to raise her young daughter by herself, hemmed in by Ted's virulent hostility and the conservative community's disapproval of all she believes in. Without George, an elderly African American who had inherited 10 acres of Ted Sander's dilapidated ancestral plantation, Stevie will face exile and the inevitable destruction of her dreams of a brighter future.

Michael R. Zomber is a noted arms and armour historian and authority having leading roles in seven episodes of the History Channel's Tales of the Gun. He is the author of a number of historical novels including Shogun Iemitsu, A Son of Kentucky, Park Avenue, Sweet Betsy, and Jesus and the Samurai. Little Souls is his fi rst novel set in contemporary America. He lives in Beverly Hills with his lovely wife, Andrea, and their two dogs, Rupert and Nani.
