Synopsis

Join a boy and his mommy on their journey to find shooting stars in a nearby field. They hear some scary sounds along the trail, but Mommy shines a light in the direction of the noise to find it isn't scary at all... because friendly creatures come out at night.

Oh, hello there! Are you afraid of the dark? Well, you're not alone.

There are millions of people in the world and most of them have been afraid of the dark at one time or another. I want to tell you a little secret, this is not only true for kids, but adults too. It can be even more scary when there are unfamiliar sounds in the dark. When you're in the dark and you hear a scary sound you may want to run away or even hide, this is a normal feeling, but when you're brave and find the strength to aim your light in the direction of the sound you may just find that what was frightening is really not scary.

Whoo... Whoo...

Whoo... Whoo...

"What's that?" Asked the little boy hugging his mommy's leg and hiding his face. "I am sacred."

Mommy aimed her light into the tree. "Look Sweetheart," she said softly, "it's an owl calling to his owl friends."

A few seconds later, another owl answered.

Whooo... Whoo...

Whoo... Whoo...

The little boy smiled up at his mommy. "Owls are friendly creatures. I am not scared of them."

The vibrant, colorful illustrations were inspired by Sleep Tight with The Very Hungry Caterpillar Illustrated by Eric Carle, Mama Loves You So Illustrated by Simone Shin, and Good Night, My Darling Baby Illustrated by Annie Bach.
