Meet Reny and Brad. Two best friends who return home after their combat tours in the Middle East. Brad is bitter, but that's nothing new. Reny's in a wheelchair, making the best of it, always a popular young man among his own veterans group, rescues, and loyal to Brad despite his jealous digs, melancholy, and crazy stunts.
As the story unfolds, we get to know Reny and his mother, a devoted fan of all things priest, especially the handsome Father Will. Both Reny and Will find common ground and hope to help Brad, especially when he adopts a German shepherd. At the same time, Reny's feelings for young and beautiful Anastasia, a rescue volunteer, grow and Brad's further deterioration occurs despite all efforts not to lose faith.
