"THEATRE OF THE WHITE DWARF” is an Original American Drama, written by a 93-year old, 30-year Cancer survivor, and former client of the legendary theatrical agent Blanche Gaines. It is the author’s first play in many years.
The Play is about Broncko, a large and powerful Industrialist’s “End of Life” battles and conflicts. At 90, Broncko is stripped of his CEO work for the first time in years, and he feels like a “White Dwarf Star,” whose energy is exhausted, waiting to explode
Broncko lives in the Penthouse of the futuristic Geriatric Institute he has co-founded and run with Alan Pincus high in the Swiss Alps. When Alan suddenly dies in his sleep, younger founders have taken over operation. Broncko’s main mission is battling his own Health: Uselessness, and “Black-dog” Depression—the same symptoms that caused his old friend Harry, a famous Reporter, to commit Suicide.
Broncko’s illness worsens. “He is a very sick, sad old man. He dreams of Harry’s choice of suicide, but mainly about seeing his son Junior again, an Astronomer who hasn’t spoken to his Papa for nearly a decade due to his cruelty to his Mom [who left Broncko and since died.] Junior is his sole survivor, as his second son died early of Brain cancer, setting off a workaholic lifetime for Broncko, achieving two billion-dollar companies.
For all his worldly Power, Broncko is deeply troubled that he will die without a loving family.
In the last act, son Junior returns to try to “make peace” with his Papa before it is too late.
Both father and son are forced to face their own painful truths, seek forgiveness, and decide if they can build a loving Broncko family together—with Junior’s surprising wife and young child. Junior promises to return soon with his family, if Papa takes the strongest new drug and is able to fight off the deadly “Black-dog” Depression. He will try!
