He also faces challenges and conflicts, such as racism, peer pressure, violence, and love.William's journey is a coming-of-age story that shows how he grows as a person and as a citizen of the city. He learns to appreciate his roots, but also to embrace his opportunities. He finds his voice, his passion, and his purpose with writing and rapping HipHop lyrics. He realizes that New York is not just a place, but a state of mind.
