Synopsis

Are you at a crossroads? Have you experienced loss? Or lost your way—your passion, your purpose? Walk with this author on an ancient pilgrimage trail and maybe you’ll find some answers for yourself. Keep Walking is the inspiring tale of a modern-day pilgrimage of self-discovery, transformation, and renewal on the Camino de Santiago, the centuries old 483-mile trail across northern Spain.

Newly widowed, author Cathay Reta was in her mid-60s and looking for direction for her life. When she began to physically prepare for the Camino by hiking and walking and leaving her sedentary life behind, she didn’t realize that it would also be an inner healing. With trepidation, some fear and a fervent commitment to make the hike as best she could, Cathay traveled alone to Spain and started walking. She kept walking day after day through tears, anger, laughter, sadness and great joy. Every day was a challenge, and she often questioned why she was on the Camino. Why not just go to a nice hotel and think through what to do the next 30 years?

Cathay learned that the physical struggle of the Camino brings out an inner breaking of the heart and soul. It gives depth and tangibility to what’s felt inside; it makes a way for healing. After 37 days she reached her destination with a bold new vision of her life and purpose.

À propos de l'auteur

Cathay Reta is on a mission to help people who struggle to find or recover their passion, to know their purpose and to live fully. It's something she knows about because in her 60s, life shook her foundation enough that she started to question everything she had believed. Listening to her inner voice, she took a walk-a long walk-on the Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James), a 483-mile pilgrimage trail across northern Spain. Traveling alone, she got to know herself again. She also found the courage to pursue her dream of being an author and speaker.Cathay has a diverse background with a BA degree in music; a lifetime of co-ministry with her late husband David; and a forty-year career in adult literacy, developing and conducting training for local, statewide (California), and national organizations-most often with public libraries. Now she lives in eastern Washington state where she writes, tries a hand at gardening, takes walks along the river, and is learning all about rat rods and hot rods with her husband Ray.
