Synopsis

The Killing Hole is a Gen X coming-of-age drama turned upside-down.

Set in 1979 in an isolated planned community of Northern Virginia, 14-year-old Stewart is a lonely and neglected child of divorce. Living in a shabby apartment with his alcoholic working mother (and always absent older sister), he languishes in school, side-stepping bullies and cliques. He notices a new kid at school, Peter, who has it even worse than he does, and the two begin to form an inseparable bond in their mutual hatred of everyone and everything else, especially the worst of all the bullies, the local drug dealer, David Hayes. But as their friendship deepens, things take a very dark turn.

À propos des auteurs

Steve Niles is a writer, best known for works such as 30 Days of Night, October Faction, Criminal Macabre, Simon Dark, Frankenstein Alive! Alive! and Batman: Gotham County Line. The success of 30 Days of Night sparked renewed interest in the comic horror genre after it was released as a major motion picture in 2007. His ongoing comic series, The October Faction, was made into a Netlix TV show in 2020. Steve got his start in the comic industry when he formed his own publishing company, Arcane Comix, where he published, edited and adapted several comics and anthologies, including works by Clive Barker, Richard Matheson and Harlan Ellison. Steve resides outside Los Angeles with his wife, Monica, four dogs, three cats and Gil the tortoise.

Artist Trevor Denham served in the United States Marine Corps infantry (Charlie Co. 1/5) before becoming a prolific illustrator for comics, movies and historical publications. His refined, atmospheric linework has a uniquely European feel, echoing the Spanish masters of the Warren Comics-era, such as Fernando Fernandez, Sanjulián, and Esteban Moroto. Having established himself as a first-rate horror artist on anthology titles including Calibur Presents, Tomb of Terror, Split Lip and John Carpenter's Tales for a Halloween Night, he recently completed his first full length graphic novel, The Coffin Road, with Storm King Comics.

Colorist Ryan Winn is a veteran artist and inker who has worked for every major comics publisher in the U.S., with titles ranging from Spawn and WildC.A.T.S to Marvel's Ultimate Fantastic Four. Best known for his work on DC's Batman titles, Ryan is also the co-creator of all-ages indie hit Gods and Gears, and its spin-off Hammerella. He was nominated for a Harvey Award in 2009 for his work on Top Cow's The Darkness. You can usually find him somewhere in Southern California hanging out with his wife, their two cats, Rocket and Frankie Beans, or playing with his band, The Taint.
