Synopsis

Let's turn inspiring songs into real life activism! Let's energize a new generation of activists to participate in making the world a safer, kinder and more peaceful place.

The Little & Big Activists Activity Book is a colorful companion to the album of inspiring folk songs, Let's Sing! Songs for Little Activists / Let's Sing! Songs for Big Activists by award winning children's musician, Kathy Sherman.

Building on the great collection of classic and new folk music in Let's Sing! Songs for Little Activists / Let's Sing! Songs for Big Activists, this book suggests several activities related to each song, covering topics such as Climate Change, Peace, Kindness, Community, Recycling, Gun Violence and Water Conservation.

In addition to activities, Illustrator Torey Butner transforms music into glorious visual art with her bold, colorful interpretations of each song. Every illustration is itself an inspiration to delve deeper into the poetry and emotional complexity of even simple folk songs.

As is suggested by the title, the activities, discussion topics and resources are applicable for Little and Big Activists alike, making this book a useful resource for families and educators, pre-K - 9, and beyond. Activities for young activists concentrate on educational and community based art and craft projects while activities for the older activists include discussion topics, volunteer activities, letter writing campaigns, protest marches and social media ideas.

With the Little & Big Activists Activity Book let's give young people a chance to think, to discover, to discuss and to do something to heal the world!
