Wendy was a fool to leave the Neverland.
She had her regrets, to be sure. Time and again, she let Peter take her offspring to Neverland. But what if, one time, they do not return?
How could an old woman, alone and without fairy dust or happy thoughts to carry her, find a way back to Neverland to rescue Peter and the child?
She would need some help.
Enter Alice Liddell, late of Wonderland, and Dorothy Gale, of Oz.
Two quite different heroines, each with a unique understanding of how to navigate through the fantastic, based on contrasting experiences, and their own regrets.
In Oz, true and good friends surround Dorothy. No actual harm ever comes to them, despite many dangers. But what if something happens and Dorothy fails to save a friend?
Alice had some rather strange and not always pleasant experiences. The Looking Glass and Wonderland’s creatures were mad, confusing, and often dangerous. Alice acted impulsively, and without much thought. Can she be redeemed?
These three come together, and must become a team, revisit each of their lands, face unfinished business and ultimately solve the mystery of what has happened to Peter and Wendy’s granddaughter.
Let’s return with them to rediscover Wonderland, Oz, and Neverland.

I am the oldest of five children, with ten years separating me from my youngest sibling, I naturally helped out, especially with the baby. I often read to Linda, becoming quite talented at giving "voices" to characters. I would make up tales. Here began my love of storytelling. The story I am proudest of from my youth is not written down, as I created an oral urban legend. There was an old graveyard behind our house. One particular grave has a bust of a lovely young woman, looking to the sky. I told the younger children she had been buried alive! If you put your ear to her neck, you could hear her faint call. Imagine my delight, twenty years later when one of my nieces, with full sincerity, repeated this very same legend to me!

Hardcover. Etat : new. Ragin, Claire D (illustrateur). Hardcover. Wendy Darling, Dorothy Gale and Alice Liddell. You know these women. At least, you think you do. The truth is, when you knew them, they were girls, and you are likely looking back at them through the misty eyes of nostalgia, coupled with some forgetfulness of the details of actual, and truly dangerous, adventures these three women had as children. And don't forget, when all those things happened, the oldest of them was likely no more than ten. All three returned safe, and seemingly undamaged. But were they, really?Imagine, a girl of ten or less, faced with the possibility of beheading. Or another, becoming a surrogate mother to a ragtag troupe of boys, on a dangerous island made from the fantasies and nightmares of sleeping children. Imagine a girl, orphaned, and once having found a new family, is then swept away from her uncle and aunt to a strange and beautiful place, where she finds friends, but also finds fearsome enemies. Imagine that this girl, (no more than ten, I remind you) has to become a heroine and save her friends, not once, but many times over. Now imagine what it must have been like to return home. Are you believed? Was it real? How do you go back to school, to chores, to dull, dull real life? You find a way, but it is not a perfect way. There is guilt, regret and sometimes, a longing to return. You think these stories have ended. You think you know the endings. The stories of Wendy, Alice and Dorothy are not over. Here is what happens next. We all know of Wendy Darling, and her time in Neverland with Peter Pan, and Dorothy Gale's adventures in Oz. Alice Liddell went through the looking Glass. Now meet them as grown women, coming together for one final quest. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.
