Synopsis

The Whisker Woods series are based on Native American teachings and lessons from the Red Road. The stories are inspired by the lessons found in the author’s second book with co-author Larry Running Turtle “Walking the Red Road: Empowering Practices for your Spiritual Journey”. The captivating stories highlight the importance of respecting yourself and one another, as well as the plants, animals, and Mother Earth.

In this book, Kenny Kitten is concerned for his best friend Kathy Kitten. Kathy has been feeling a tad sad lately and doesn't know how to feel better.

Kenny thinks of a way to brighten her mood and get her feeling better. He remembers lessons from his mother and grandmother about the nurturing aspect of nature, and decides to take Kathy for a walk in the woods.

Under the mighty limbs of Grandfather Tree, Kenny and Kathy Kitten learn that trees can teach you lessons in life, and they play an important role in Whisker Woods.

  • Trees provide oxygen, shelter, food, and warmth
  • Trees care for each other, sending nourishment to weaker trees
  • Trees are patient, waiting for sunshine and rain
  • Trees have deep roots that keep them strong, helping them stand tall and never give up

Kathy and Kenny are cheered up by walking, dancing, and laughing in Whisker Woods. They realize nature can improve your mood and help you release sadness. Kathy and Kenny return home with renewed hope and cheerfulness.
