N.R. Evans is an author and illustrator from Kansas City, Missouri. As a child he escaped into horror books and drew ghastly creatures on the borders of all his schoolwork. This led to a life-long pursuit of the arts in various forms, including music, acting, comedy, writing, and illustration. In 2024 he published The Book No One Should Open, the first in a series of fully illustrated scary stories collections designed to foster a love for literature among today's young people. His philosophy is, "You can't expect kids to get excited about reading if you don't give them something exciting to read."
