The Grove stands silent and wild on the outskirts of the small but affluent town of Essen, Indiana. A forgotten graveyard, make-out spot, and lightning rod for the town mythologist-it's long been a subject of local fascination and lore. Down-on-his luck journalist Kyle just wants to get to Essen, sell his parent's house, and never come back to his hometown. Life's never that easy. After finding a note hidden in his estranged father's old typewriter, Kyle starts unraveling a mystery that will reveal the dark heart of America's heartland.

Jon is lucky to make his living as a writer. In addition to his fiction work, he writes a variety of blogs, ebooks, video scripts, and more as the Director of Marketing for a green cleaning product manufacturer. In addition to writing, he still enjoys illustration as a hobby, and still does the occasional bit of design work. His reading has expanded to all sorts of genres. His favorite things are books, movies, TV shows, video games, or comics that transport you to another world and place-real or imagined, past or present-and invite you to understand the people and their lives. The power of story is in the possibility of expanding empathy. He currently lives in Central Illinois with his partner, Paul where they spend their days making each other laugh a lot.
