Peter grew up around some excellent cemeteries in rural Western Massachusetts. He has always loved illustrated stories. While his family's library consisted of more than 2000 titles, he ignored most of them, favoring ones with pictures like A.A. Milne's "Winnie the Pooh", Russell Hoban's "The Mouse and His Child", and Peter Madsen's Valhalla comics.Peter studied printmaking at UMass Amherst and now lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife Marla. Depending on the day, he might be an artist, writer, genealogist, designer, nature geek, comic book nerd, and/or various other multitudes. This is the first children's book he's illustrated.
