I knew there would be difficulties as I journeyed from hope to wellness. I also knew that I served the God who had all the answers to my dilemma. The proper navigation was established for me. God set me on the right course and went before me.
As I progress to my story, concerning my stroke which, left my entire right side paralyzed with the exception of two fingers. It also left me with aphasia—the doctors had shared with my wife, Karen, that I may not live.
I was successful in stroke recovery: rewiring the brain with Neuroplasticity to overcome paralysis and Aphasia. I was able to recover 95% by lots of prayer—by being consistent and dedicated with my therapy.
Demonstration: I began to demonstrate my gait and balance for (TWU) Texas Women’s University located in Houston, TX. for their Master’s Class in 2013. My last Demo was on September 23, 2025. So, my record is well documented by witnesses and paper. I was chosen by Professor Rupal Patel. Ph. D. and her staff associate Dr. Carolyn P. Da Silva P.T. D.Sc.
You also can be an Overcomer—just believe in yourself. It doesn’t matter what your ailment or disability you’re dealingq with is. You may not achieve a 100 percent recovery. Whatever the outcome—count it all joy!
Learn how I embraced my journey and became an Overcomer—to standing, walking, jogging, driving, climbing a ladder,
shooting pool and playing table tennis. My main goal is to jump rope.
