Bestselling author Linda Haley Prentice is a US Navy veteran and DEA intern who entered the corporate world, won a President's Award for sales, then led her own finance company for seven years with no staff turnover. With the collapse of the financial industry in 2009, she capitalized on her degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University and began a career in law enforcement. Over the next decade, she ran the front desk at two police departments, became a 911 dispatcher, and, as records supervisor, won the Chief's Award of Excellence for her unique ability to "shut down nonsense."
