The book is illustrated by John Steven Gurney - the author and illustrator of the graphic novel Fuzzy Baseball and the picture book Dinosaur Train. He has illustrated over 140 chapter books, including the A to Z Mysteries, the Bailey School Kids, and The Calendar Mysteries series. He has illustrated board games, advertising, posters, puzzles, and a shopping bag for the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

Stephanie Duchaine Montgomery is a women's non-fiction and children's picture book author who resides in Scottsdale, AZ.A graduate of the University of Michigan, Stephanie draws inspiration from her life, love of sports, her family and their fluffy pup. She aims to offer reassurance to young women via her adult writing, and bring a little joy to children all around the world via fun stories and vibrantly illustrated picture books. When she's not writing, you may be able to find her at a sporting event, going for a run, reading suspense novels, chasing her daughter around or building giant Lego sets with her son.
