James and August have been best friends and flatmates for long enough that they've settled into a routine. August wakes early for his opening shift at a local cafe, they spend their afternoons chilling together at the flat, and in the evenings, James works at a nearby pub. They suit each other perfectly, as both flatmates and friends, and James can't imagine living with anyone else.
But while August is serving lattes at the cafe, James works tirelessly on his writing. And more than one night a week, August performs at whichever tiny venue will give an unknown singer-songwriter a chance, James cheering from the audience when he has the evening free. Their lives are a combination of their present contentment and future aspirations; they're both happy in their little life but striving for more.
It's only when James takes a silly side job, a bit of writing work that he considers meaningless but necessary for his finances, that something shifts. An old friend confronts James about the contents of his writing and the repressed feelings hidden within, leaving James to decide what this revelation about his identity could mean for himself and for his relationship with August.
Is James bold enough to write them a new future?
TLDR: What can writing horoscopes reveal to a man about himself and his life? And what will he do when he realises his future is within his grasp, linked to the flatmate and friend he couldn't bear to lose?
