Philip Werner is the founder of the highly acclaimed hiking website SectionHiker.com, started in 2007. Since retiring from the software industry in 2010, he's hiked and backpacked over 10,000 miles in the United States and Scotland. Philip is currently a hiking leader for the Bread Loaf section of the Green Mountain Club. In the past he's been a 4-season hiking leader for the Appalachian Mountain Club, a trail maintainer for the US Forest Service, a Master Educator for Leave No Trace, and a backpacking guide for Andrew Skurka Adventures.
