Chasing Jacarandas tells the vibrant story of a mother and child’s walk around the community. Just like the one in their front yard, they encounter the beautiful Jacaranda tree in every place they visit. The cheerful rhymes and vivid illustrations will delight young readers and spark their curiosity. To inspire children to learn more about trees and their habitats, a “Get Smart” section full of facts is included.
Chasing Jacarandas is co-written by mother and daughter pharmacists who have knowledge of the medicinal and practical uses of trees and plants in our environment. As members of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, their goal is to inspire young readers to learn more about the vegetation they encounter. This debut book is part of an ongoing series about plant life and its related careers.
