Six months have passed. The world has changed. The companions, now each on their own individual trajectories through life, desperately attempt to balance their withering friendships, military responsibilities, and personal demons. Some have fallen from grace, some have risen to new heights, and some find themselves in entirely unexpected waters. However, despite their worries and woes, thanks to the heroic efforts of the Flame, the accursed blight is lifting from the lands.
Ashyla, now free from the terrifying labyrinth of Calitha’s domain, has shattered the chains of fear shackling her to her past. The time has finally come for her to court death itself and reclaim her salvation. No cost is too great. No life is worth sparing. Her children demand their vengeance. Her world demands its retribution. And she will be the executioner of their fates. When the indomitable divine partners with the inevitable void, will the companions, or the very world itself, be able to survive, or will they succumb to eternal darkness?

Daniel Whitman is an engineer who, on the side, loves to dabble in the realm of fantasy. He grew up reading fantasy books and playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and Diablo. Now, he is taking this childhood passion and crafting his own stories. Daniel's passion is for dark fantasy, with a special interest in morally complex characters and heart-wrenching moments. He wrote his first book, A Land in Shadow, while he was still in high school, and he wrote his second book, A Resurgence of Hope, while he was pursuing his master's. Now working for his Ph.D., he is excited to present his third book, A Fall from Radiance, which is his deepest, darkest, and most thrilling story yet! While Daniel is an engineer by trade, writing is his passion, and one of his dreams is to be listed among the greats of fantasy!
