Synopsis

Abraham received an imputed righteousness, but through the New Birth something far greater has taken place in us. We not only have righteousness accounted to us, we are actually in the true righteous One, Christ Jesus. Abraham was not presented before the Father in Christ Jesus, but we are, we have been born again! Abraham was given a promise of the coming Seed and believing what God said, he had righteousness credited to him. Now Christ Jesus, having been exalted to the right hand of God, presents us in Himself before the Father. We are in Christ Jesus presented before God in Him. Abraham did not have this kind of righteousness. We are made righteous in Christ Jesus, not just accounted righteous. We are in Christ Jesus and He is also in us! The Lord Jesus presents us holy and without blemish and blameless before the Father (Col 1:22). The Holy Spirit works in us to mature us in all the righteousness and holiness of Christ Jesus.
