Jeff Harstad served as an enlisted infantryman in the United States Army, completing five training and combat deployments and rising to the rank of sergeant. He was awarded the prestigious Combat Infantryman Badge and the Purple Heart. Honorably discharged in 2006, he has remained active in veteran organizations and outreach.
