Though Why The Dilemma? An Inconvenient Question is a novel, but it is factual. It chronicles lived experiences-compelling stories of individuals in six countries, traversing four continents, namely, Scotland, the United States, Nigeria, Algeria, Tanzania, and India. Each story is unique and revealing. It is a tribute that embodies the voice of the suppressed, oppressed, harassed, and discriminated worldwide. These people are real humans with feelings and emotions and blood running in their veins. They are nowhere less or inferior to others. Ella is unperturbed until the intricate perceptions as a child of interracial marriage scurry to define her, thus placing her identity in the middle of nowhere. The arrest of Darryl for a crime he didn't commit brings the preconceived notion of his race into question. Finally, he might find love in Molly, but he must first prove his mettle to his in-laws beyond any reasonable doubt because of his ethnic background. Jake's ambition to excel in high school basketball and other extracurricular activities is impeded due to a façade of diversity. To assimilate into a group, Nacéra, hitherto, thinks she is part of the society; not knowing her country of origin is an impediment. Jamil feels he is cursed growing up with albinism and its endless persecution, which deprives him of the life experiences of feeling a bond with humanity. Ada is grossly maligned, growing up as a girl in her family, fighting the subjugation of her sex, and yet she grew in her chosen career. Her culture continues to insulate her, a reminder that she still lives in a man's world, regardless. The flaw masking the social caste system threatens Shaan's life, and the existence of his entire family's lineage faces extinction because they are Dalits
