Synopsis

What If the Successful Life You’ve Built Is Actually a Beautifully Constructed Prison?

How far would you go to outrun your own past? For thirty years, Sandra Combe wore the ultimate mask. To the outside world, she had it all figured out: an MBA graduate, a devoted mother, a professional baseball wife, and a corporate powerhouse wearing lipstick leading men in the high-pressure oil and gas trenches.

Sandra was a virtuoso of survival. But beneath the polished titles and outward success, she was running from the toxic fumes of childhood and generational trauma—bypassing her own memories while performing the roles the world expected.

Then her body revolted, forcing a cosmic reckoning.

At forty-nine, chronic stress triggered a sudden heart attack and triple bypass surgery. Years later, she drowned—clinically dead and suspended beyond the veil in the velvet space between worlds. There, Sandra was given a choice: drift into the blissful unknown, or return to face the shadows of the unspoken past. She returned with a mission to stop running.

Stop the Bypass is the raw, visceral memoir of a woman who had to die to finally learn how to live. Spanning 256 full-color pages and beautifully illuminated with inspiring artwork, this book is a masterclass in emotional reclamation—rediscovering true love of self, love of life, and the living intelligence of nature.

Inside this radical awakening, you will discover:

  • The Shadow of Silence: The profound courage it takes to look back, break the cycle of generational secrets, and dismantle the exhausting prison of emotional masking.

  • The Jungle Metamorphosis: Leaving the corporate trenches behind to follow butterflies through the pulsing jungles of Costa Rica, transitioning from survival mode into true flourishing.

  • Dying to Live: A breathtaking look inside the medical crisis—from the triple bypass to a three-day coma—that forced a total spiritual reset.

  • The Shattered Circle: Tracking the significance of 108 scattered prayer beads—a powerful, symbolic breaking of the cycle that provides the ultimate blueprint for stepping fully unmasked into your true purpose.

Reading Sandra’s story is like reading your best friend’s journal—intimate, honest, and quietly life-altering. You will see yourself on every page.

A Note from the Author
This book tells my story as I experienced it and remember it. Sharing it required me to revisit painful and deeply personal parts of my life, and I understood that not everyone would welcome my decision to tell that story.

Since its publication, the book has generated strong reactions. Some have challenged my memories and my right to share them. Others have told me that my story gave them the courage to speak up, confront secrets in their own lives, and begin their own journey toward healing. The encouraging messages have touched me deeply, and I am profoundly grateful for every one of them.

I cannot control how others respond to my story, nor would I want those responses to determine how you experience it. I also cannot erase parts of my story because they make others uncomfortable. I spent too many years carrying secrets in silence to allow someone else’s anger to return me there. I have chosen to tell my story, and I stand by my right to tell it.

I simply ask that you read these pages with an open heart and decide for yourself what resonates with you. This is my story, told in my voice. My hope is that you will experience it for yourself, draw your own conclusions, and perhaps find something within these pages that gives you the courage to honor your own story, too.
