Synopsis

This story follows a Karen(K'Nyaw) family wearing traditional clothing that represents their cultural identity. Using simple, repetitive phrases like "My [family member] wears...", the book introduces readers to the importance of handmade garments, such as the long white dresses (Say Moe Wah) worn by young girls and the intricately woven red and black tunics of the adults. By highlighting these unique styles and the artisanal skill of backstrap weaving, the story serves as a proud celebration of K'Nyaw heritage and a guide to keeping their language and traditions alive for future generations.
