Synopsis

Every night, two women share a dream neither of them chose.

Cassidy Treadwell is a former homeschool mother in Ohio with a physics degree she never used and an empty house that no longer needs her in the same way. When she discovers an unexpected ability to help adults overcome their fear of water, she finally finds work that feels uniquely her own. But the rigid structure of the community pool leaves little room for the people she wants to help—and Cassidy must decide whether to stay within the rules or find another way.

Sida is a master weaver on a distant island, where silk is not merely craft but inheritance, and where women are expected to step aside when their time is done. When a monster begins attacking the village's fishing boats, Sida abandons generations of tradition and follows a forgotten path upriver toward an ancient water temple. There, she discovers that something her people believed lost to time may not be gone after all.

As Cassidy sleeps, she walks in Sida's world. As Sida dreams, she hears Cassidy's voice. Neither woman understands why they are connected. But as each begins to step beyond the life she was taught to accept, both discover that the patterns shaping their worlds may be larger—and older—than either of them imagined.

What follows is a quiet, mythic unfolding across two realities—where water remembers, thread carries meaning, and the stories people inherit can shape the lives they believe are possible.

Drawn from mythologies of fate, weaving, dragons, and water spirits across cultures, The Weaver's Wake is a character-driven fantasy about identity, purpose, and discovering what becomes possible when the roles we were given no longer fit.
