Synopsis

An undying friendship in a dying, sunless world.

Follow Maben, a humanlike machine, and the Grinner, a machine-like human, into the wilds of a bleak future where no sun has been seen in 700 years.

Erkle, last of civilization's great cities, is a final ember among the world's strewn ashes. Beyond its walls lies the 'Moor—a wasteland of poison rains and unending night. Here, an unlikely bond persists between two survivors of the ancient Moorwars: once bitter enemies, now fastest of friends.

This illustrated volume includes two standalone adventures:

  1. Ghosts of Antiokh: Maben and the Grinner take refuge from the poison rains in the empty ruins of an ancient inn that might not be entirely empty.
  2. Two More for the Darkling Queen: The duo stumble upon a civilized village - a rare respite from the horrors of the 'Moor that might be too good to be true.

Plus:

  1. 14 Original Hand-Rendered Illustrations
  2. 3 Original Hand-Drawn Maps / Cross-sections
  3. 12 Pages of Encyclopedic Entries

Illustrations and maps all scanned from original ink-on-paper drawing and rendered in Inkscape for high-contrast grayscale print quality.

Inspired by classic adventure serials and the covers of 80s era comic books, each edition of Maben and the Grinner brings the Darklander Universe to life through a collection of stories, detailed maps, and entries from the Encyclopedia of Erkle.
