Synopsis

When the cities burned and the murders started, the government stopped pretending it could save everyone. It built the Citadels instead - a hundred feet of concrete around what was left, and orders to shoot anyone still outside.
Stephen Chase managed a grocery store, and his son had cancer. Unable to afford the next round of chemotherapy, he took a night security job at a warehouse to make ends meet.
Unfortunately, he wasn't told about what was lurking in the night.
After everything is taken from him, a handful of strangers saved him. He built his found family out of the wreckage of the one he lost, and for the first time since the gates closed behind him, he had a reason to fight.
But he also had an enemy. The thing that runs the Detroit Citadel doesn't age, doesn't sleep, and has never been hungry for long...
The wall wasn't built to keep the monsters out. It was built to keep the people in.
