The inspiration for writing about Bob and Jim's adventures came from routine discussions with the author and her young daughter about what animals would do if they could talk and explore human adventures. After driving by a local farm with horses almost every day and making up stories about them, Bob and Jim were born. The inspiration for writing about Bob & Jim's adventures came from Jill's routine discussions with her young daughter about what animals would do if they could talk and explore human adventures. After driving by a local farm with horses almost every day and making up stories about them, Bob & Jim were born. The characters were also inspired by Jill's experiences from growing up on a hobby farm where she rode horse and enjoyed being surrounded by animals & nature. The current series celebrates the four seasons, inspired by real-life moments and local experiences from Minnesota.
