À propos des auteurs

Born on the Fourth of July in the City of Brotherly Love-Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-Joseph J. Dougherty III has worn many hats over the years (often at the same time), including union ironworker, Assistant high school athletic coach, nightclub owner, musician, author, and talk radio host. Each chapter of his life has contributed to the stories, reflections, and revelations found within this book. However, through it all, the roles of which he is most proud are those of husband to his wife, Elaine, and father to his son, Joseph.

Born June 11, 1963, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Elaine M. Dougherty built her life on loyalty, resilience, quiet strength, and unwavering devotion to family. A proud graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, Class of 1982, Elaine began her professional journey early, serving as a student intern at Business Interiors in 1981-82 before pursuing her passion in the beauty industry.Married on July 27, 1985, to Joseph J. Dougherty III, Elaine has been a loving and devoted mother to Joseph J. Dougherty IV since January 31, 1986. For decades, she has also proudly held the unofficial-but undeniably powerful-title of Manager and Master of the Domain of Joseph and Elaine Dougherty (1985-Present).Elaine's life experience as a wife, mother, confidant, and steady foundation of her family brings depth, honesty, and emotional intelligence to Beyond the Picket Fence. While Joe may have worn many public hats, Elaine has been the quiet force that held the home together through every season-success, struggle, reinvention, and redemption. Her reflections offer readers the voice of the woman behind the man: perceptive, candid, compassionate, and strong. Above all, she is most proud of the life she and Joe built together over four decades-one rooted not in perfection, but in perseverance.
