Synopsis
His mind is scattered across orange cats. The case is still his problem.
Luis Cannon had a trench coat, a gravel voice, and a bone-deep vendetta against injustice. Then he touched the Cognichonk, a cursed relic disguised as a cosmic cat toy, and woke up in a cardboard box with four paws.
His consciousness is scattered now, spread across a psychic network of orange cats. Every host comes with its own instincts, opinions, and questionable willingness to cooperate. Luis can still spot a clue. Staying with it is harder when his body has declared war on a Roomba.
But someone else is working the network.
Occult sigils are spreading across the suburbs, and a sorceress is finding her way into the minds Luis shares. She wants control of every cat connected to the Cognichonk. The detective scattered among them is part of the prize.
To stop her, Luis must follow the clues back to the case that shattered him—and convince his unruly hosts to work together. Their freedom depends on it. So does whatever remains of the man he used to be.
Unfortunately, calling a meeting means getting everyone out of the boxes.
