Synopsis

I “died” — and lived to write about it. When Anthony Sanchez was rushed to the ICU at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, he became one of the few to survive intubation and a medically induced coma. Still, Edge of My Heart isn’t just a survival story — it’s what came after that nearly broke him. This memoir chronicles the intimate journey of a Dominican son from Brooklyn — a teacher, musician, husband, and father — who had to rebuild his life piece by piece after waking up to grief, fractured relationships, and a marriage on the brink of collapse. Told with poetic vulnerability and street-level truth, this is a story about legacy, faith, and the hard-earned beauty of starting over. From coaching and mentoring youth in New York City to writing music and learning how to become a better man, Anthony shares the heartache and healing that come when death doesn't take you — but life still demands more than you think you have left to give. For anyone who's ever lost their way and wondered if a comeback was still possible — this story is for you.
