Synopsis
From the author of MISFORTUNE and HIDE OUT: Clare Standish is still grieving the loss of her family in a hit and run crash with a pick-up truck fourteen years ago. After years of depression, she finds her calling as a professional photographer, but even now, occasional depression leaves her feeling that surrendering to gravity from one of the Front Range’s high places would be only
“a short flight with a sudden stop.”
But then she discovers the body of stabbing victim Dr. Marla Pleasant on a light rail train from Union Station.
Littleton Police Detective Marshall, impressed with her photographs, offers her a job as crime scene photographer. Though she has the relevant training, she gets help from experienced Douglas County crime scene photographer, Sheldon Davis, and launches her new career with Marshall and with a second murder seemingly related to Dr. Pleasant's. In return, Marshall helps her find out the truth behind the crash that destroyed her family.
Could one of Clare’s many friends and acquaintances be behind the two murders? Or worse yet, the unknown driver of that truck fourteen years ago? And is the secret to it all hidden in Red Rocks Park?
