“But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man: and the head of Christ is God.” 1 Corinthians 11:13
“For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.” 1 Corinthians 11:7
“Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.” 1 Corinthians14:34
The passages above given by Paul in 1 Corinthians have been taken literally and misunderstood since the printing of the Bible. In 1 Corinthians and in Ephesians Paul is telling us about the Body of Christ, the Mystery of Christ and the Fellowship of the Mystery.
As Believers, we should take the bible seriously. When a contradiction appears, we lack understanding. Repetitive numbers and stories are used to convey context. In Gods wisdom, the truth is hidden in parables to protect it. The gospel writer may leave a cue in the middle of verses that gives direction and clarity. In the middle of Ephesians Paul says, “This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.” Ephesians 5:32 This is the key to understanding that Paul leaves for us, the key that unlocks the truth in Ephesians and 1 Corinthians about the Woman. What Paul is really telling us is by far more beautiful and far reaching, as far as eternity, than any physical or literal translation strewn with contradiction. The journey thru this book is based on the words of Paul and what we discover is the “fellowship of the mystery”.
“And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ”: Ephesians 3:9
