A propos de cet article

Fifteen abstracts, numbered 2 - 13 and two are unnumbered. 8.5 x 14, punch holes at top, majority are bound with ribbon, unpag (amount of pages varies from abstract to abstract). Spotting, creasing, soiling, chipping, small tears, staining, couple of loose pages but overall condition is good. Peter Godfroy, 1797 - 1848, was descended from James Godfroy who settled in Detroit in 1717. The family weatlh was generated from the fur trade and owned large areas of land in the downtown area and areas west of downtown. The abstracts, which are typed originals, carbon copies, printed and in longhand detail the property transactions from as early as 1799. Some of the names listed are Campau, Cicotte, Godfroy, Hall, Labadie, Reaume, Visger, all well known local families. Interesting to read. A total of 15 abstracts from one of Detroit's earliest families. Sold as a lot only.
