"Address at the Grave of Luther Burbank" is a poignant and thought-provoking eulogy delivered by Judge Ben B. Lindsey in honor of one of America's most celebrated botanists and horticulturists. In this tribute, Lindsey explores the profound impact of Burbank's life work, emphasizing his dedication to the betterment of humanity through the mastery of nature.

The address serves not only as a farewell to a friend and visionary but also as a philosophical reflection on the intersection of science, nature, and the human spirit. Lindsey captures the essence of Burbank's revolutionary plant breeding techniques and his unique worldview, which saw growth and evolution as tools for social and physical improvement. This work stands as a significant historical document, providing insight into the high regard in which Burbank was held by his contemporaries and illustrating the humanist values shared by both the speaker and the subject. It is an essential read for those interested in the history of science, the life of Luther Burbank, and the intellectual landscape of early 20th-century America.
