First edition thus, but a very exceptional copy indeed. This unique one-off Fine Binding volume is in superlative condition because the talented and sensitive book binder, Andrew Sims, has taken what was always considered a fine and sturdy edition and given it a fabulous classic binding. It is in full black leather, with gilt titling on the spine, which also sports five raised bands. The text block has been gilded on the top edge. This transforms the original book into a resplendent heirloom standard volume, as befits these twelve masterly tales. It is also illustrated with the first appearance of some highly atmospheric drawings by Paul Hogarth. There is a seven-page introduction by Brian A. Marsh, which is unique to this edition. A wonderful book in the finest possible collectable form. A true keepsake for the Conan Doyle collector. Language: eng Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng 0.0 Language: eng.
