Four heroes, four quests, one mission: save the Summer Realm
The Summer Realm is in mortal danger. Huge flying beasts have found a portal into their world and are devouring entire villages of people. And Ulysses Rasselas, Minister of Secrets and Lies, has been tasked with pulling together his agents to save it.
It’s an impossible mission, and all he’s got to work with is a thick-headed guard, a cocky thief, a reclusive mage, and a complete unknown – a witch the Guild of Mages called in from another world. But time is running out, so he deploys his team of parrots to all four corners of the realm with instruction to obtain ingredients for a unique spell the mages insist will work.
And while the thief mistakenly recruits a rookie partner, and the reclusive connects to new found family, and the witch from another world finds a lead in a soldier’s bed, the guard is sent all over the realm on his airship to satisfy the wishes of a magical shopkeeper, whose bitter heartbreak insists on tit-for-tat before helping him with his quest.
Travelling through towns, deserts, mountain ranges and even a prison, Rasselas’ agents begin to understand what is at stake, and the lengths they will need to go to save the realm.
Agents of Secrets and Lies is the first book in the Summer Realm steampunk dark fantasy series. If you like epic fantasy with dark themes, and action adventure with an array of unique characters, then you will enjoy the Summer Realm series.

A Yorkshireman living in the rural green hills of Lancashire, Michael Wombat is a man of huge beard. He has a penchant for good single-malts, inept football teams, big daft dogs and the diary of Mr. Samuel Pepys. Abducted by pirates at the age of twelve he quickly rose to captain the feared privateer 'The Mrs. Nesbitt' and terrorised the Skull Coast throughout his early twenties. Narrowly escaping the Revenue men by dressing as a burlesque dancer, he went on to work successively and successfully as a burlesque dancer, a forester, a busker, and a magic carpet salesman. The fact that he was once one of that forgotten company, the bus conductors, will immediately tell you that he is as old as the hills in which he lives. Nowadays he spends his time writing, telling tall tales in his bio, and pretending to take good photographs.
Victoria Pearson lives behind a keyboard in rural Bedfordshire, where she spends most of her time making up strange stories, and writing them down. When she isn't writing twisted fairytales or going down a research rabbit-hole for her next weird story, Victoria enjoys making YouTube videos, and she has been known to dabble in painting.Heralding from the late 1900s, Victoria can, obviously, recite every line from every cheesy 80s or 90s movie you care to name, but she has no idea where her keys are.
