A propos de cet article

I found it astonishing that this book was apparently designed to be a textbook of ancient history because it delves into a level of detail which seems to me to be beyond the school student! It is (or was) a lovely book, with detailed blindstamping of the boards front and rear, with the logo of the publishers and with a leather spine, also blindstamped and with gilt titles. I am including photos of the Table of Contents for your further information. The book concludes with separately paginated section of questions (480 questions on 36 pages) all very "fact" oriented and clearly referenced back to the text. There are no illustrations in the book. Condition: This book is in good condition. The hard covers are edge worn in several places, to the boards below, and bumped at the corners and spine tips, but nothing extreme. The spine is still bright and fully legible. Inside, I can see that there were some erasures on the front endpaper, no doubt, the name of previous owners. The title page has been re-attached to the boards with librarians tape but the next pages has another major split leaving the previous page and the front cover barely attached (and needing more librarians tape and perhaps more likely the attention of a serious book restorer). The interior pages are surprisingly clean and fully legible, with an occasional but infrequent instance of random soiling, none affecting the overall legibility of the book. The pages are really without toning or foxing although in effect the very small font darkens them. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
