I now, therefore, print, in the form of an A ppendix, a revised account of the construction of these two engines. Their history and effects in warfare I have already dealt with. I also append a treatise fully describing the structure, power and management of that remarkable weapon the Turkish composite bow, which I only cursorily alluded to in my book on the crossbow etc. R.
