Presenting a collection of exploratory ideas, this book offers an understanding of buildings, people and settlements through concepts of flow. The metaphorical term 'the space of flows' was coined by the sociologist Manuel Castells. This book addresses this topic and the interest in processes that flow across traditional boundaries from the person to the building, from the sense of self to the settlement, from economics to identity.

Andrew Ballantyne is Professor of Architecture at Newcastle University, UK. His books include What is Architecture?, Deleuze and Guattari for Architects and Architecture Theory.

Chris L. Smith is an Associate Professor in Architectural Design and Techn� and is an Associate Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Sydney. His research is concerned with the interdisciplinary nexus of philosophy, biology and architectural theory.

We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence.
