An archive of photographs, newspaper clippings, letters, and other ephemera pertaining to writer, George S. Brooks. All items are very good or better. A collection of ephemera detailing the career of George S. Brooks from the late 1920s to about 1960. A collection of ephemera detailing the career of George S. Brooks from the late 1920s to about 1960. Brooks fought in World War I and upon returning home starting a career in journalism. George and Helen moved to Groton, New York during George's later career. A large amount of ephemera from this time follows Brooks' mayoral campaign. A scrapbook seen here includes clippings, memos, and political ads for Brooks' campaign. The race was contentious and ended in a tie, with numerous articles here discussing what should happen next. Brooks' opponent finally moved to another town disqualifying him from the position. An interesting archive documenting various aspects of the career of journalist, playwright, writer, and later mayor, George Brooks.…
