A propos de cet article

1942. (Mass market paperback) Good to very good. 70pp. Tall 8vo. In original yellow wrappers, front cover printed in black and red; saddle-stapled. Wrappers with a few faint spots of soiling; lightly dust-dirtied from rubbing. Minuscule black spot (ink?) to fore-edge. Previous owner's signature at head of title page. Period stamp from an Educational Book Supply store to title page. Pouch of litho artwork attached to verso-rear cover (designed for the student to take the picture and paste it in the corresponding exercise section for that artwork). Internally, the book is remarkably clean, with only an occasional faint underline or checkmark in pencil. Clearly not used by a student, but perhaps instead for reference? Painters, sculptors, and architects covered include: Rembrandt ("Night Watch"), Thomas Gainsborough ("Blue Boy"), John Constable ("The Cornfield"), William Hogarth ("The Shrimp Girl"), Frank Brangwyn ("The Pilots"), Turner ("The Fighting Temeraire"), Christopher Wren (St. Paul's Cathedral, London), Michelangelo ("Moses"), as well as brief write-ups on "Famous Craftsmen," "Famous British Painters," "Famous Buildings," and "Sculpture". …

Description de la boutique

Established in 1970. We specialize in Prairie Canadiana (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta), Travel & Exploration, The North, and Aboriginal Peoples ("North American Indian"). Although these areas comprise the main sections in the store, they are by no means our only focus! We boast an impressive Literature section, a vast array of Art Books and Gallery Catalogues, a respectable offering of Science & Medicine titles, and drool-worthy cabinets of antiquarian tomes (of course). A member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of Canada (ABAC), the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers (ILAB), and the National Archival Appraisal Board of Canada (NAAB). We do appraisals, for insurance purposes, institutional, or otherwise. Open by chance or appointment. Feel free to call or email!…
