A propos de cet article
Siborne is the most authoritative source on the dispositions of troops before and during the battle of Waterloo. This volume is untitled and contains the maps referred to in his 'History of the War with France and Belgium in 1815'. It was Siborne who created the detailed model of the battlefield of Waterloo at the National Army Museum. No date but believed to have been published in 1844. Includes 11*double-page colour maps. Contemporary half-calf with marbled paper to remainder. Spine has five raised bands and two contrasting morocco title plates with gilt lettering. Heavy rubbing to edges of boards with scuffs to extremities. Surface cracking to, mainly, upper parts of joints and some scuffs to calf. Marbled endpapers. An armorial bookplate of Panshanger House (Earl Cowper) to front pastedown. Pages are foxed but little impact on maps.
