A propos de cet article

A scarce and detailed map of the Battle of Cerro Gordo, one of the important battles of the Mexican-American War. A further note records a total of sixty-three Americans killed, and 367 wounded. The Mexican forces took some 1,000 in killed and wounded. The map was drawn by John McClellan, then a captain under Winfield Scott and a participant in the battle. Engraved map, 12½ × 18½ inches, with hand-coloring, on a 19½ × 23¾ inch sheet. Old folds. Small splits at four cross-folds. Foxing. Good. …
